I love how easy it is to be any place on the planet within about a day or two…..you just decide where it is you want to be and don’t allow any barriers. You can go, there are an endless number of ways to make it happen. I am happy to know this as a reality and to feel the freedom to go and be, just be….in body, mind, and spirit.
. I love the idea of being able to engage in the same activities regardless of location. Whether you are in America or Tibet, you can find a way to hike.
In St Louis or San Diego, Barcelona or Australia, you can bike, hike, or beach it.
Chicago or Carlsbad, you can surf the waves and feel alive in the water–just decide if you want the salt! And go!
These scenes can be from anywhere and they are. And wherever I go, I find that there are no strangers, only people who are looking for a way to take the next breath, make a healthy connection to another human being, and feel the joy of this life. We select the place where we want our home and we settle in. We like the view, we adapt to the surroundings. We adopt space on the planet and if we are wise, we use it as a healthy foundation from which to grow.
All of this is about not just the physical location of where we are but the mental portion of where we allow ourselves to be. We do indeed plant ourselves and we do allow a certain view, a perspective, an attitude, to become home.
My work is intense much of the time. People call me when they are in trouble. My reputation is such that there is a belief I am helpful and I love that. I base my value upon the results I obtain with people with the focus being healthy, positive outcomes. Sometimes, I am in a state of absolute delight and wonderment at what it is that we as human beings are capable of. And at other times, my heart just aches and breaks a bit at how we manage to be so sidetracked by what is genuinely unhealthy and pitiful.
I aim to tap the inner strength in others as I have found it in my own self and have come to rely upon it as a foundational trust, a reality, a blending of heart, mind, soul, and partly of this earth and partly of the heavens and all of my ancestors. It is good work, it is a growth work, it is work forever in progress and forever with blessings and opportunities each moment.
The trick to it all is to know that you decide where it is that you want to be — physically, in your mind, in your emotions, and in your spirit. You decide. You engage.
