Inner strength and your childhood

One of the things I make note of is how people often get sad over the Christmas holidays, especially as it relates to the sweetness of what is associated with them. 2014-12-19 10.53.56In my work, I consistently invite people to take a look back in their life, not to regress and get stuck there but to find a way to understand how it is that you landed where you are today. Frustration too often pops up from feeling resentment about circumstances from the past. It is easy to overlook the reality that the perspective we have in previous years is based upon the age we were at the time and the degree to which we had less wisdom available for insight and compassion. Our inner strength is innate and we need to tap it in order to discover the beauty and richness of every moment we have experienced, even the rugged ones.

Little children created these tiny little holidays cabins–snow houses. They do it with glee. They also do it within the context of agony on some days. The adults who guide them through the daily activities are directing a path towards joyfulness, building their inner strength through seemingly innocent and unrelated tasks. Everything we do matters. The tangible outcome of our energy expended builds our confidence. 2014-12-19 10.54.16Allow yourself the opportunity to take on a simple task and then feel good about what it is that you have been able to do. The season is Christmas, the merriment comes from the hope that is the core of the holiday. Imagine your heart feeling all filled up with hope and love and belief………..this is the season of I believe.

Build the Strength Within is all about that. Click here and find 5 Steps to a Happy December…that actually lasts all year long!
