We are truly all about our head and what it is that is taking place inside of it. Make note that we keep it encased in a hard shell to protect it from exposure and the elements of life that would otherwise damage this tender organ.
Why then are we we so reckless with it? We are, you know. We expose it to things we would never expose a newborn to–violence, drugs, alcohol, negative interactions……and we do it without regard for impact. Do we believe that somehow it will simply continue to recover or just not be damaged at all as a consequence?
The mind and body are so entwined. There is no separation, every bit of our physical being is connected. If, within these images, we could actually see the words that we are thinking and the emotions that they are eliciting, we would know so fully how true this is. Imagine, for a moment, that you can.We are built in such a fabulous manner so that the mind can control our body, each of our body functions. In our culture however, there has not been sufficient belief in this at a level that has educated us about how to manage such a fact. Instead, the trend is to divorce our self from the mind and body and treat it as though it is our automobile, rather than our life-mobile. We cannot drop this vehicle off for repairs, we need to be integral to the appointment and process.
For every thought that we generate, there are feelings. Regardless of the topic, there is no such thing as a thought that doesn’t trigger neurotransmitters which get released into our blood stream and remind our body that the brain is in operation. This is why it is so important for us to be aware of what we allow our brain to engage in.
Think about this:
1. What happens to your body when you watch the daily news on television?
a. Does it cause you to feel angry, defeated, and sick in your gut, flushed behind your face?
b. Does it prompt a feeling of happiness, a slight fluttering of your heart, a smile of joy?
2. What happens inside of your body when you meet up with a dearly beloved one?
a. Does it cause you to feel angry, defeated, and sick in your gut, flushed behind your face?
b. Does it prompt a feeling of happiness, a slight fluttering of your heart, a smile of joy?
You know, intuitively, what the answers are for you. You know how events impact you–mind and body.
Starting right this very moment, tune in, pay close attention. Believe that you can influence how it is that you feel by what it is that you allow your mind to think. To help to you become proficient at this, take a look at The Language of the Heart, a video that I created, one that will help you tune in another important way.
