With everything that bombards us in today’s electronic culture, we are influenced every single nanosecond. There are sights and sounds coming at us continually. Some of it makes us feel frenetic because it is too loud, too pounding, too high pitched, too angry, too slow, too fast–your interpretation of it all depends upon what you are craving.
If you are like most people, you want something upbeat for a party and something soothing when you want to relax. I very frequently have the Internet platform of Pandora playing in the office during my work day, especially if I am feeling a bit out of sorts. I tune into a soft classical or spa type music. Sometimes, I want a soft rock selection that I can sing to and release my tension as I do so–it makes my entire body feel better, healthier, happier. Every now and again, I want a bit of Mick Jagger to get me dancing and stomping around to gear me up for a bike ride or a fast, brisk walk, or a meeting I need to conduct where the people there need a strong motivational talk!
The point is that we can select what we listen to. You are in control–great thought, yea?
