The funny thing about social media, especially Facebook, is that we can connect back with people from any point in our life and no matter where it is we each live. I have made contact not just with my old high school friends but also with kids from my grade school days. I love that. And as we share little pics and notes, people also leak out their days of feeling down, job loss, deaths, illness, things about their pets, theirs kids and grand babies…..so many things that are posted are what we would miss out on otherwise.
There is nothing frivolous about the social media connection — we look for one another, see one another’s pictures and posts and make the connection to what is shared. It is lovely. And even when there is a certain sadness that is expressed, people chime in to offer some light, some hope, some cheer. Its easy to be kind.
We also share the cute stuff — dates with spouses, decorated holiday scenes in our homes, winter walks, animals in the snow…we look to inspire one another.
It seems that during the past couple of weeks, there have been posts about people feeling the blues, bummed out, sad, mad, and ill……..we all go through it, we just take turns. Thanks for the sharing, bless you all for the caring. Life is a beautiful thing when you have connections that are lovely to other people. We help one another remember that we have an internal strength that will carry us through anything life brings our way. Gratitude and the act of offering it for every little thing you have is demonstrated time and again to be a healing practice…….give thanks right now for each moment when someone has been kind to you, when you have known love, when someone has liked you and let you know. I promise you will feel better, even if only for a second…
Merry Christmas……
