When I think about each and every single thing that I write, even when it is about faith, the underlying theme is self determination. No matter what it is that is taking place, we have an investment, we have ownership, we have a percentage of accountability. Creating the life we crave takes a level of commitment and dedication to self determination, willfulness, and blind faith that will keep the vision alive. And yes, of course, I believe it takes a plan, a blueprint, even though I completely get it that change happens and we need to then adjust. The point is that having a life we want takes action — of the mind, the heart, the body, and the spirit.
When I requisitioned Missouri artist, Bryan Haynes, to give me his rendition of The Thinker, I told him the guy needed a heart. I do not believe that we do our best thinking unless our heart is alive and participating. If we are going to have balance in our lives, it means that every bit of who we are is engaged in the process. That’s why it is so important not to make decisions when we are in a highly charged emotional state or a really flat emotional state — we need to be of sound positioning when we make our choices — that is if they are to be healthy.
I watch people make decisions. I observe the process and the outcome. I look to see when it is they seem to make their best choices. I understand the statement — cooler heads prevail.
What decisions will you make today? Whose life, in addition to your own, will you impact as a result?
Start the day, begin the week, and end the month smart, very smart. Be cool, balance those emotions with your heart and head in sync and do it with your core spirit in full view of it all. This is a formula for success and for self love. This is how you Build The Strength Within.
