It was a Thursday morning, cold and dreary and my life was in a very sad state. My belief that my marriage was in a happy condition had crumbled–badly. It was time to retain a sharp attorney, someone with a track record of being honest and being strong in addition to being very smart. I’d already been down the path with a lawyer who was anything but. I was having a morning coffee with Dr Peter Ambrose, my good friend, business associate, and exquisite psychologist. He was concerned about the degree to which I seemed to be sad and feeling defeated by a situation which was, of course, temporary. He suggested, and urged, that I contact a guy who he knew would be “a warrior in the courtroom, a true advocate for me, and a perfect gentleman….known for the manner in which he is consistently fair.”
More than decade later, I am here to share that I did as Peter instructed me and Pete Woods not only took me through that difficult situation but has since then become a good friend and a reliable business advisor. He never fails to think things through in a manner that invites you to take a different perspective.
The Ladue News did an interesting piece on him:
entitled Game On: Pete Woods, From End Zone to Court Room. Very good write up that provides a few clues into why I invited him onto the show.
We have so much legal activity going on in our country these days. People get tired of the negative, the attorneys who seem to pop up on the scene ready to file frivolous law suits which then paint a bad image of the professional–wrongly. I invited Pete top the sow because he does indeed exemplify The K Factor, which is a core component of Build the Strength Within. Tune in and listen to our dialogue, I am betting you will be entertained and inspired!
