There is a New Age practice called earthing; I laughed when I heard someone describe it to me. My response, when asked if I was familiar with it, was — yes, I have been walking barefoot on the dirt, grass, sand, and moss of the land all of my life. I was thrilled to know that it is somehow now a renewed practice. We all need to climb out of our cubicles, classrooms, offices, homes and cars and allow our connection to the earth to take hold of our mind, body, and soul.
I am on an excursion in nature and I am finding myself in deep gratitude and complete amazement over the beauty I am surrounded by. I am learning lessons in nature that apply directly to how to live life better and I am embracing and loving animals and parts of nature in ways that inspire me to love my fellow human beings.
For instance, I make note that animals in nature have such wisdom; they are so watchful and mindful. They position themselves in ways that allow them to be aware of their surroundings and keep safe. They rarely waste energy in over-responses to stress, they simply don’t waste their energy on what is not important. Imagine if each one of us took the time to practice that–naturally.
Engaging in this manner is the core of Build the Strength Within. We need to take the time to quiet down, look around, be mindful, know our inner confidence and allow it……life is rich when you do this.
