Work Life Balance Feedback

It was excellent to have our Work Life Balance 30 minute tele-seminar yesterday so well attended and with such great responsiveness.  It makes me really happy to have people report that they got the tips, have already begun to use them, and am really happy that people felt like it was a great use of their time!

Here were are on July 2nd, poised for a National Holiday to celebrate our independence and freedom of choices.  What better way to get ready than to feel like your personal home life and your work life are healthy and ready for you to simply relax and enjoy July 4th as a free spirited, American?!

I gave you a series of formulas yesterday — whereby,

a = WL for Work Life

b = HL for Home Life

c = OWB for Overall Well-Being

put into a formula, a <<b, b=c

It means that your Work Life is much less greater than your Home Life and your Home Life is what your Overall Well-Being is equal to.

The  reality is that no matter what it is that we do for work, it is where we go and what we do to earn money to pay for our life. It is not where our foundation of depth and happiness resides — that is something very personal and sacred and it resides in our personal sphere. When this is out of whack, so are we and we need to resume balance.

When we are out of balance, we stumble. When we stumble, especially repeatedly, we get hurt. 

5 TIPS for getting into balance in your life is to take time for your personal needs and desires — stress will make you a little nutty, eventually sick, and then just kill you — manage it now.

 1. build down time, off time, into your schedule

     2. drop the things that zap you, drain your good energy, and wear you down;

     3. consider when it is that you do what;

     4. love your body, take good care of it, pamper yourself; 

     5. replenishment of the self is essential

On the web site, there are Blueprints for you to download — do it.  I’ll also be creating calendars so you can Blueprint and then actually schedule your time to take good care of you!

One more formula — 3 x 20/week =OWB which directs you to do 3 things for 20 minutes each week for your Overall Well-Being.
