In Build the Strength Within, I draw an analogy wherein I Blueprinted what all is necessary for one to build their life healthfully. I’ve been reviewing the program recently and realize the value ever more deeply each time I do this exercise. I am taken to the memory of an old classic movie, which I highly recommend — Mr. Blandings Build His Dream House 1948. I promise it’ll be entertaining.
Point is that in this movie, Cary Grant and Myrna Loy decide upon a life change and hire an architect to blueprint their new home — a place they had long dreamed of. It has all the elements they each want, and more. There is humor and terror in their experience on this project. They are a genuine epitome of what it is that we are each going through in our own life journey as we aim to have everything we desire come into being.
My lifetime of interest in human behavior has led me onto a long path of education and training to become expert. And yet, even this expert struggles to understand her own life details; educating and guiding others is so easily filled with clarity but for my own self, my intellect and academics get clouded by the heart because the heart knows what it wants and it often refuses the working of the wisdom of the brain. Correct?
If this sounds at all familiar, make note that I taken a decade and designed a step wise process wherein we can each take a more objective view of where it is that we find ourself across 11 important dimensions of life. It is in this set of exercises that we are looking at our own mental architecture and examining the frame work and the foundation. It is within this process I also have us decide where we want the light to shine and how and where we can rest and nourish and relax — it is indeed our dream house for our best life ever. The project of our life is about the architecture of our mind and how we best use expertise to put it all together.
If our foundation is weak, it’ll crack. It the roof is insufficient, there will be leaks. We need a strong and durable base for our life upon which to build every essential element and then the bonus rooms. Is it worthy of your time to assess your property. your plan, your own structure and then discover when you need repairs and renovation?
