There are as many ways to land upon happiness as there are people on the planet. We each have our own unique perspective about what it means to us. Meaning shifts according to our mood, our state of mind, the way we are feeling physically. For a patient with pneumonia, being able to catch your breath restores faith in well-being and being able to feel happy again — and that’s success. For a person just in the middle of the grief of losing a loved one, happiness seems a distant dream and only their faith that life is good and will continue in a positive manner can shift their perspective.
For others, it is being in the midst of loved ones that gives the feeling of happiness as their faith in humanity is all about the success they experience in embracing their grandparents, parents, children, and the ongoing lineage.
Sometimes, it is the experience of simply getting up in the morning minus aches and pains — that’s success and it produces the feeling of happiness in the faith that perhaps today will be a good one.
We each have a story. Every day we have a new set of circumstances, and a host of ways that we can respond.
Today I will be interviewing Todd Patkin who has authored several pieces about Finding Happiness. He introduces a 12 week program and even has a boot camp for it! Very interesting.
